Finally some more news on the Asus 6k monitor. Guessing it’ll actually ship early next year. You'll finally be able to choose between an ugly forehead, an ugly chin or selling a kidney.

@paul Ugly chin can be covered, unlike ugly forehead. Now we wait for the price tag.
@paul Fingers crossed for reasonable pricing. Ugly chin can be handy Post-It board, so I don’t mind too much.
@paul I’ll take the 27in 4k OLED that they teased today instead. 5k scaled to 4k doesn’t look so bad to me, I’ve already got an IPS where I do that.
@sappharad yes I have hopes for the various 27" 4Ks coming out next year, but not sure how they'll look with the various subpixel layouts. There's also a 34" 5k2k OLED that should come out late next year which is what I'm really interested in.

@paul the last I read from a 5K (Asus?) was problems with dynamic backlighting … and when the Panel is fine (the LG back then) there were problems with the Hub feature (usb and others) and/or Apple itself as they seem to hate the idea of a desktop computer with external displays … so it disconnects or doesn’t wake up after the Mac went to sleep or something else …

So if anybody is using an external monitor on a Mac with no problems at all - hammer that button

100% no problems

@nSonic @paul I have two LGs. The hub is the minor problem (I use it for keyboard, trackpad and ethernet), but ghosting is the bigger one. Both have already been exchanged by Apple (LG said it was normal behavior). Now it comes back.
@paul We thinking over/under 1.2k? Hoping it stays fairly reasonable compared to the 5K @ $800 but they definitely could go high with how niche it is…
