Some other slapping jokes I've heard:
- nobody likes it
- nobody uses it
- everybody loves commercial algorithms
- nobody likes to build their own tools
- nobody likes to build their own audience
- nobody likes to do anything time consuming nowadays (this might be partly true though, people are getting lazy or impatient, but still it's not like NOBODY does it)
@rolle In the Netherlands we have a big IT news site called Tweakers, with a big community of nerds. It's quite surprising to me how unpopular Mastodon et al is with this community.
Like, these people are like the core audience of this thing.
@rolle : well, for them, itβs true.
Iβve seen influencers, deeply brainwashed by 15 years of Twitter, try to use Mastodon.
They create an account. They post a few click bait headline ("You would not believe what happens if you click here") then they complain that:
1. They have not immediately as much as followers as their old account.
2. They have too many "critical reactions" and that creates a bad atmosphere.
