New instance, updated #introduction:

Hi, everyone!

I'm Willa. I work as a med historian and pharmacy assistant at a hospital, but I almost never post about that. I do post a lot of nature pictures, often fungi or insects. I have a degree in #mathematics which I currently only use recreationally. I'm #transgender, #neurodivergent (#ActuallyAutistic), #GenX, and #SociallyAwkward. Interests include #Minecraft, #nature, #RProgramming, #tidyverse, #hiking, #IndianFood, #VegetarianCooking, #science, #SciFi, and #cats. I make quirky #music that you can listen to on Bandcamp (#electronica, #indietronica, #hyperpop, #ElectronicClassical).

@wplalonde Awesome. What does a med historian do though? Is it about histology or the history of medicine?
@weh So med historians get the patient's medication history; that is, we verify and record what meds the patient takes, usually a patient in the emergency room, by talking to the patient and/or caretakers, calling their pharmacy or doctor, consulting online records, that kind of thing. It cuts down on medication errors to have specially trained people doing it, and lets the ER personnel concentrate on other things.
@wplalonde
Oh that makes sense and sounds cool, thanks for answering
@wplalonde I hope you'll be posting about recreational mathematics, because all I can think of at the moment is baseball statistics.
@Karen5Lund I hope I will be, too, but it depends on how worn out I am from work
