Years ago, I was at a meeting with a lot of famous Nobel laureates, most of them physicists or economists. The tension between the two groups was palpable.

The physicists said: How about a theory that actually predicts something accurately?

The economists said: How about working on an actual human problem?

To the extent that science is devoted to, and funded to, make profits in our #ConsumerSociety, it's primary benefit to our surviving #ClimateChange lies in the human relationships and communities it creates and the actions of those communities in getting climate change addressed.
