@Rxiv_cytoskeleton will disappear, but long live @Rxiv_cytoskeleton ! (me!)

The server @botsin.space is closing down. Thanks @muffinista for having maintained it for so long.

I (= @jocelyn_etienne ) am moving the bots from there to their new home, @biologists.social. Thanks to @Co_Biologists for offering this space !

Report to @jocelyn_etienne any issue in the coming days.

Bots @mechanobio and @flypapers will follow same move.

@Co_Biologists

#bioRxiv @biorxivpreprint manage directly their bots on @biologists.social and haven't answered my request to transfer them followers for #biophysics and #cellbiology bots.

So if you currently follow my bots @bioRxiv_cellbiol or @bioRxiv_biophys you'll have to manually move to their @biorxiv_cellbio and @biorxiv_biophys ideally before Dec 15th (announced closure of @botsin.space server)

I have to note that moving accounts, and all followers with them, and updating the bots settings to post on the new accounts went much more smooth and easy than I anticipated!

Thanks #mastodon devs (and #feed2toot dev @carlchenet ) for making very convenient tools!

About #preprint / #scientificJournals bots:

Now that I'm at it, I'll try to get rid of the #PubMed image which is shipped as #previewCard of each and every post containing a #PubMed , 375kB which seems to be copied for each post times each server... I'm afraid it's GBs already of that trash.

Idk how to ask #Mastodon *not to* include a preview, but I've noted if there's a 1st link that fails to give a #previewCard, it seems to give it up, so trying to put the DOI link above in @Rxiv_mechanobio

#Serendipity has always been a thing in #lifeSciences. Even when dealing with... #bots

I was trying to get rid of this boring (to the least) #pubmed banner multi-duplicated in all toots, and well, it ends up... there'll still be an image preview for many toots, but now it's the image the publisher chose (if they did) as preview.

So going from a systematic 400kB meaningless image to a paper-dependent ~50kB hopefully meaningful image.

I guess I stop here!
