Day 1 of the End of Year Drama Challenge Which types of dramas do you prefer? A: Slice of life, always. A drama that pulls you into the daily lives of interesting people. Hospital Playlist is the best example of this. Friends, food, fun #EYDC2024 @anniedelavoye.bsky.social
Day 2 Favourite actress discovered in 2024 Moon Chae Won - her performance in Flower of Evil is phenomenal #FlowerOfEvil is such a complex psychological thriller. Imagine if your husband, the love of your life, just might be the serial killer you're desperately trying to find? #EYDC2024
Day 3 Favourite actor discovered in 2024 Kim Ji Hoon. Again, discovered by watching Flower of Evil and I'm blown away at his mastery in presence and tone of voice. It would spoil too much to say why his character is so interesting, but I can say - such a strong performance.
Couldn't think of a good answer for Day 4 Day 5 #EYDC2024 Drama I watched with no expectations - Moving Slow start but an excellent exploration of people with superpowers and their parents (with a much more interesting story) trying to conceal their talent and live normal lives
Day 6 #EYDC2024 Drama I dropped Sorry for everyone who loves it, but Behind Your Touch. The premise of a character developing a very specific and silly superpower that then enables them to get insight into others, and then happens to go on to help the police... Too much for me. Sorry.
There's a problem with many Qs assuming people are able to watch dramas that are new out this year I don't know if my answers on favourite character and supporting character qualify But for any drama watched this year it's Kim Bong Seok, Moving and Huaze Lei, Meteor Garden #EYDC2024
Day 9 of #EYDC2024 - a drama from another year, watched in 2024 Flower of Evil FINALLY dropped on Netflix. A masterful cat and mouse psych thriller. (IMO this challenge needs fewer Qs about new dramas otherwise it's difficult for people without expensive subscriptions or those outside of Korea)
Missed Day 10 of #EYDC2024 because I'd disappeared under armfuls of Christmas grocery shopping Yes, yes I did comfort rewatch Korean dramas in 2024. Hospital Playlist was my favourite drama I rewatched - every time I notice a new theme or a clever piece of dialogue.
Day 11 of #EYDC2024 mentions a drama from this year that kept me riveted. Light Shop on Disney Plus. It is eerie, slow, subtle, and very deftly acted. And you mind may start to wander if you watch it late, and then turn off the light ...
Day 12 of #EYDC2024 A platonic relationship you loved The 99ers in Hospital Playlist - they study, work, play music, eat, and go on roadtrips together. There for each other in moments of sickness, loss, heartbreak and stress. They're #FriendshipGoals
Day 13 of #EYDC2024 A drama you found boring. So sorry because it is BELOVED but Welcome to Waikiki was just so unfunny and nothing seemed to happen. Like a weird Korean Seinfeld. Sorry...
Day 14 of #EYDC2024 A remake or adaptation you watched Tried but couldn't complete Meteor Garden (2018), which is a remake of a 2000s manga series that has inspired multiple (and I mean multiple) TV adaptations including the cult #kdrama classic Boys Over Flowers Melodramatic. Cheesy. Hilarious.

The thing is, Meteor Garden is so long. So many episodes... I stuck with it until the London episodes. A lot of action around Piccadilly Circus, an Airbnb in, er, Mayfair?, and a long scene with the main characters running around Tower Bridge. Both sides without crossing the road... Cheesetastic.
