And yes, almost no UK site owner apart from @jaz has fixed that to account for Brexit, even though the UK does not diverge from the EU in the relevant respects and the same conclusions hold.

Which is a mixed bag: Social Media should be for everyone, and the Fediverse should be appropriate for younger teens, though the lack of mechanisms for 1) declaring an account as a minor, and 2) declaring a post as not appropriate for minors, does make me hesitant to recommend it to anyone under 18.

There are some nodes that have gone for a zero-porn strategy; that does not at all address the other major prong of the legalities, though, which is #GDPR compliance.

That is (for examples) different for @trumpet in Scotland; for @wild1145, @Floppy, and @jaz in England+Wales; and yet again for the Mastodon.London owner who is in Germany and gets an unmodified Article 8.
