The fossil fuel industry has drained $3 billion dollars a day in profits from democratic economies for 50 years.
Now the industry funds far right fascist political parties to keep their gravy train going.
Enough.
A fossil fuel phase out & ending oil subsidies might save the planet & help democracy survive.

@MikeDunnAuthor This is Bob buying groceries which were brought to the store by a diesel powered truck.
This is Bob cooking his dinner on his gas stove.
This is Bob filling up his car with gasoline.
Hate them all you want but you cannot live without them, and it will take quite a while until you can.
And if you want to punish them or tax them to death, then fuel will be two or three times as expensive.
Elon and Donald will still have their vehicles and air conditioning. Bob will not.
@mike805 @MikeDunnAuthor “you cannot live without them” the majority of the world that doesn’t rely 100% on cars for personal daily use begs to differ
my oven is electric too fwiw, and there are other ways to generate that electricity
@MikeDunnAuthor if we count only Shell USA, they have 12k workers, so that works out ot $167k per shell employee. If we count the parent company, Shell plc, it has 90k workers, so that’d be $22k per shell employee.
Oh and keep in mind that the vast majority of shell employees will see zero benefit. Most of this is going straight to the top, and maybe towards lowering oil prices
