Saw a lot of disappointment in the #WarhammerUnderworlds community this weekend given the balance issues on display in Worlds. I enjoyed when someone put as "It's all Dromm all the way down."

I think the community has legitimate concerns. Balance is clearly off. Quality of new edition rules for existing warbands is clearly uneven, making the loss of flavor people feel with this edition's switch to warscrolls hurt even more. 1/n

#WarhammerUnderworlds #Embergard

I'm not terribly meta driven so I don't feel the same level of pain as a lot of folks online. I'm invested in the new edition to see if the increased simplicity helps me get my kids and non-wargaming friends playing now and then.

Whatever happens with that, it's fascinating to look at a change of edition this closely, feeling the disappointment and the hope. Discussing the frustrations and steps people plan to take forward to enjoy the game. 2/n

#WarhammerUnderworlds #Embergard

I'm impressed to see some of the things the community has done so far to cope with a game state they're not satisfied with.

- Creating and sharing "homebrew" warscrolls for teams that didn't get them in the update
- Maintaining 1st Ed playgroups for those that want to focused on that edition
- Voicing dissatisfaction in a generally civil if sometimes sharp way

While I may not have the highest hopes for GW's next steps, I'm impressed by the player community's. 3/n

#WarhammerUnderworlds

As I seek my coping strategies for the loss of warband flavor I've felt in #WarhammerUnderworlds #Embergard I've enjoyed reviewing #Bladeborn rules for favorite WU warbands in #Warcry.

I haven't found time to play yet but I like the look of the dice multiples mechanic when rolling initiative and I think I finally understand the dagger, shield, and hammer.

Will break out the kids' old wood blocks for terrain. I love the idea of having multiple ways to play the same models. 4/4

@Tuonel just wanna say - absolutely top notch toots on this, genuinely enjoyed reading them, felt more enlightening on what’s happening than GW have been. UW seems to have been treated rather weirdly them - they had a nice consistent release schedule, probably some of the most consistently brilliant minis of any range, and was a great entry point. Then everything ramped up (costs, release schedule)…. Suddenly everything stops. I’d no idea looking in from the outside what’s going on with it 😂

@rollleafd Thanks very much! It's been a fascinating thing to witness as I returned to the hobby this year.

I have faith the community will find multiple viable paths to enjoy UW or make their way to other games.

I think GW will have a hard time keeping the fans happy short term but I don't think they're bothered about it so long as the boxes sell. If they keep the model quality up I don't think that will be a problem regardless of the state of the game.

@Tuonel I hope Warcry will get a similar community support when it eventually goes down the drain, because it's the one GW game I've liked the most so far
