Attached: 1 image Ω⚠️🐘⚠️Ω I did some hacking at @[email protected]'s implementation of a customizable algorithm for your Mastodon feed. I fixed some bugs and added a few features but maybe most importantly I streamlined the process of installing and running the demo app so you can experience the magic of his invention reshaping your Mastodon timeline for yourself with ease. Seriously everything about having an algorithm adjust my feed to make sure I see stuff I might otherwise have missed has made my Mastodon experience like 1,000x better. The fact that it's (extremely) granularly customizable is the icing on the cake. Setup should be trivial for anyone even vaguely familiar with running stuff on the command line. Even if you're scared of the command line you should be able to copy/paste the 3 commands listed in the installation instructions, all of which you can find in the GitHub repo: https://github.com/michelcrypt4d4mus/fedialgo_demo_app_foryoufeed #Fediverse #feditips #Mastodon #FOSS #opensource #nodejs #node #javascript #webapp #Feditools

@cryptadamist @EdwinG @kupac @jikodesu yeah - apps getting your personal firehose and doing a custom algo-sort seems like the inevitable end state and I look forward to it. I would probably stick to chronological for my main feed, but e.g. when reading replies on an active toot? Algo plz. Currently it's always overwhelmed by the first reply's thread or similar, and that is usually not the most useful one by any measure.
@groxx @EdwinG @kupac @jikodesu i've been messing around with @pkreissel's tool for a couple days now and i have to say that it is Totally Awesome to be able to customize your own feed. you could easily leave it mostly chronological. do anything really.
