Fixing the Disinformation Age

Solving the problem of the corruptibility of our social media ecosystem (as so ably demonstrated by Elon Musk) is an important step in healing our public discourse.

Somehow users need to have simultaneous access to the advantages of the Fediverse (primarily decentralization) and Bluesky (no confusion to get started) or else users of both ecosystems need to be able to interact across that divide more fully.

"Creators should decide for themselves how and whether it makes sense to participate on platforms like Bluesky, while being aware of its current structural susceptibility to capture. For my part, I will distribute my work there, but will focus my efforts on building up long-term audiences on platforms that I own. This is wartime. People should adopt a wartime stance and assume that everything is subject to potential capture."
