This is a small hill to die on, but it irritates me when people in tv/movies say "over and out" when using a radio.
On a half-duplex communication medium like radio, "Over" means "i'm finished transmitting, it's now your turn to talk".
"Out" means "this conversation is now finished".
"Over and out" is contradictory

@liamo absolutely! It’s so bad that even when this is explained to emergency services volunteers I work with, they understand it, but still say “over and out” because it’s so burned into their brains.

@liamo people get so mad about this when delivering courses that it gets emphasised more than what you need in a mayday call
