Meant to post this in the summer: My hydrangea bush, 2023 (one bloom) and 2024 (lots of blooms). What a difference a year makes!#BloomScrolling #FloweringPlant #Hydrangea
@Moodre I’m not really an expert. I just cut it back in 2023 and got new growth in 2024. Right now, mine isn’t looking great, lots of leaves turning brown and dying. But it seems unstoppable, more leaves keep sprouting, so hoping it will be okay.
@JudieLC thanks. I was hoping for some kind of magic panacea, but maybe I just need to wait and see 😊
@Moodre Are you planning to keep it as a potted plant? Mine's in the ground. Something is making the leaves turn brown (since late summer) but it seems to be pretty resilient - no matter how many leaves fall off, more sprout out. Don't know if it's different with a potted hydrangea.
@JudieLC yeah, I put 2 in a pot each. I've tried in the garden previously, but probably had them in poor positions without the water they need. This is my last shot a keeping this species alive - I really like the plant and the flower, but I've killed half a dozen of them πŸ™„
@Moodre Sorry! If it makes you feel any better, I just killed a coleus I bought for a dollar at the community center. I bought it for the sole purpose of making sure my granddaughter saw that I was using the flower pot she gave me. She saw it and now I have to get something else for the pot before she visits again. πŸ˜€
