@neonsnake heh. My own petty revenge for being extorted out of unreasonable wads of cash is reading this barely assented government for the filth it's been for decades.

#Yes #NotAllCivilServants but unfortunately, the sum impact of them and their legislature. :/

"Life in the UK Test , Question 16 of 24: What percentage of the work force are women?
50%, 40%, 60%, or 30%.
Incorrect
Women in Britain today make up about half of the workforce. On average, girls leave school with better qualifications than boys. More women than men study at university."

Guess what I answered and they said was correct.

Did you know?!
The UK Home Office (or maybe the DWP? Idfk) recorded my fingerprints before I could get my Biometric Residence Permit.
No notice that this would happen; my employer told me when they called to explain why they couldn't pay me or offer more shifts.
They didn't already have my fingerprints because I have never intentionally broken a law.
They stopped my employer from giving me any more shifts at uni until I paid £130 I didn't have for the privilege. Got my pay eventually.
There was no fucking choice if I wanted to remain here legally.
And then the BRP share codes became a requirement in years since.
My prospective employer kindly let me know mid-paperwork following successful interview.
The story continues...! šŸ‡

And now, I have to figure out how to make an eVISA account.

The UK Government sent me an email, as it is wont to do.

"If you did not receive this email directly from the Home Office, it may not be possible to create your account or view your eVisa yet.

Dear Sir/Madam,
We have previously contacted you to take action to create a UKVI account and access your eVisa.

To do this, go to https://www.gov.uk/get-access-evisa to get access to your eVisa.

Your biometric residence permit (BRP) will expire on [redacted]. To prove your immigration status after this date you will need to replace your BRP with an eVisa, which is free and easy to do. The expiration of your BRP card does not affect your immigration status.

Your BRP will not be replaced when it expires. You should take action to create a UKVI account and access your eVisa before your BRP expires, so you can continue to prove your immigration status easily.

If you have already completed all of the steps to create your account and access your eVisa, you can ignore this message.
What you need to do now

You need to set up access to your eVisa, which will replace your BRP.

You will need:

your BRP number (or visa or immigration application number)
your passport (if you do not have a BRP)
access to an email address and phone number
access to a smartphone

Go to https://www.gov.uk/get-access-evisa to get access to your eVisa.
Got a question?

To watch a video on how to create a UKVI account and access your eVisa go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2LYfUNTiEo.

For more information about eVisas and to get help creating your UKVI account, visit: https://www.gov.uk/evisa.
Already have an eVisa or another physical document?

Go to https://www.gov.uk/evisa for more information on how this change will affect you. Other physical documents include things like a certificate of entitlement of right of abode.
Legal representative, or an immigration application advisor?

If you are a legal representative or advisor and used your email address for client immigration applications, please ignore this message. We will provide more information later this year.
Stay updated

For the latest eVisa information visit https://www.gov.uk/evisa, and sign up for updates. This page will be regularly updated throughout 2024."

I followed the linked process (after checking it wasn't a scam).
I reached a feedback loop so I asked the help desk.
The adventure clusterfusks on...!

Get access to your eVisa

Set up a UKVI account and access your eVisa.

GOV.UK

"Dear [redacted],

Thank you for your email enquiry dated [redacted] 2024 regarding the UKVI account registration/eVisa.

We understand that you are struggling to take photographs on the ID checking app.

Whilst looking into your enquiry I have identified that the email address you have provided has not yet received the email invite from the home office, instructing you to create your eVisa account.

We understand that you have registered your details for a UKVI account, however you are not able to access your eVisa.

If you have registered your UKVI account without receiving the direct email from the Home Office inviting you to do so, you will not be able to access your eVisa.

You do not need to take any action; you will be informed when your eVisa is ready to view.

Once you are eligible for an eVisa, you will receive an email confirming this. You will then have access to the view and prove online portal, where you can generate a share code.

If you have not yet been contacted about creating an account, you do not need to act now but should continue to check GOV.UK for updates.

Please note we cannot deal with any enquiries/replies sent directly to this mailbox.

Yours sincerely,

"Life in the UK Test 7, Question 18 of 24: When did the Glorious Revolution happen?
1685, 1692, 1688, or 1680.

In 1688, important Protestants in England asked William to invade England and proclaim himself king. When William reached England, there was no resistance. This event was later called the ā€˜Glorious Revolution’ because there was no fighting in England and because it guaranteed the power of Parliament, ending the threat of a monarch ruling on his or her own as he or she wished."

"Life in the UK Test 7, Question 20 of 24:
Who is able to change the Prime Minister during his/her [sic] term?
The Governing Party, The Monarch, Fellow MPs, or The Speaker.

The Prime Minister can be changed if the MPs in the governing party decide to do so, or if he or she [sic] wishes to resign. The Prime Minister usually resigns if his or her [sic] party loses a General Election."

[sic] is academia-speak for when someone fucks up and you want to style on your source without changing the wording.
