Literally Anywhere Else

@gotrans depends on who you ask. Locals like to think it's Europe, a lot of like standards put us in Asia.

@gotrans

Hmm, I think a lot about where my mutuals are w.r.t. time of day, weather, night sky, society/politics/economics, flora and fauna... And I like a lot the geographical diversity, it's much better than what I experienced in other networks (You Know Which Ones).

@gotrans THIS IS FASCINATING
@gotrans iedont know why I expected literally anywhere else to be higher? but it still feels weird
@elysia this corner of the internet is so anglo and euro centric
@gotrans I am US citizen 🇺🇸 actually but been all over in my life, why voted that way!
@gotrans I guess I’m technically the 3rd option but I kinda feel like it doesn’t count because Canada is just poorer USA that’s kinda sorta more left leaning if you squint.
@che5hire basically the same thing, yeah, I thought there would be a fair amount of canadians with this exact thought but I decided that only made the poll funnier.
@gotrans @thefathippy Geographically, Europe. Politically, the increasingly backward UK. #FuckBrexit 🫤
@[email protected] The USA, but I am highly considering moving to Switzerland via a student visa to study abroad and to start living with my girlfriend at some point next year >.>
@gotrans Insufficiently detailed question. What do you mean by 'from'?
@[email protected] I don't care what half of my ill-informed country voted; I'm hitting option 2.

(Yes, I realise Europe and the EU are two different things; just let me still be bitter)
@gotrans @CommonMugwort
I instinctively answered Europe before asking myself if that’s still correct for the UK. But this is asking about Geography not political unions, so Europe it is.
@gotrans From the US but I live in Europe. (I answered USA though, since that’s where I’m “from”)
@gotrans counter question: do you mean: a) where I was born; b) were I was risen; c) where I live; or d) where I identify the most?

@gotrans

What does "from" mean?

Where I grew up is not where I live.

@gotrans tied at 42% that's a sign
@gotrans Now there's a dilemma - I'm in the UK, so "officially", since Brexit, that's "Literally Anywhere Else", but in my heart, I still *feel* European.
@gotrans I’m in the uk, does that still class as Europe. Still consider myself European even if the weasel Nigel Farage doesn’t.
@gotrans Aren't we all from Africa if we look at long run big picture ... 😊
@gotrans where am I now? Or where born?
@gotrans I want to say I'm from Europe but I'm from the UK
@gotrans From the ends of the Earth.
@gotrans why no Asia.. sad :<
Seems like fedi is still not so popular here
