One of the cool things about fake Lego on AliExpress is that they sell sets real Lego would never make, from fascist police forces to WWII military buildings.

It's fucking wild. It's like Lego for jaded adults.

Look at this stuff. Wild.

I'm not going to lie - I've always wanted darker, more troubling Lego sets that explore the less pleasant sides of humanity. Red Light districts, military stuff, disaster sets, and so on. The world isn't all sunshine and rainbows, and I wish Lego would sometimes reflect that.

Wild that AliExpress comes to the fucking rescue.

@thomholwerda Third-party Citizen Brick had a "Center for the performing Arts" set
@thomholwerda I want the police dog with his vest
@rekle Just order it. I ordered a fake Lego Technic Lambo and while you can certainly feel it's not quite up to the Lego quality, it's more than good enough, and you won't even notice when looking at it anyway. It's also so stupidly cheap it barely even registers (those are Swedish kroner; remove a zero to get a rough dollar value).
@thomholwerda "fun" fact. The better looking rifles are actually Chinese copies of an American design from a company called brickarms who design and produce weapons and other gear for Lego Minifigures.
And of course there also are companies like Brickmania, who repackage original Lego bricks into military models. But those serve a different audience due to their prices 😬
@thomholwerda Now I wonder if one can get Mao's Mausoleum or the Three Gorges Dam in #fakeLego?
