I’m currently in the “angry” stage of grieving. And today I did my 1st small act of resistance.
I’m 99% sure my immediate family voted for TFG. We don’t discuss politics much, but I was raised Conservative, so.
On Wed, my dad texted a video he took of a deer, Thurs, my brother texted a cute cat meme. At first, I just didn’t respond. But today, I responded by texting them this article:

Edit: I don’t need y’all estranged from your families telling me to give up. MYODB!

I’m not going to cut them off unless I first verify and confront them. But they think they can just have a normal relationship w/me and carry on as if this is politics as usual and nothing fundamentally changed? Nah. They know where I stand.

If they voted for TFG, they voted for this. They voted for a rapist traitor who dines with Nazis.

I’m going to remind them of what they voted for every time they interact with me.
They can either deal with it, or cut ME off. My whole life, I’ve been the black sheep of the family. It’s my turn to be angry and disappointed with them.

@KydiaMusic

I am sorry. 😢

This is going to get a whole hell of a lot worse before it gets better.

@KydiaMusic
I am doing the same thing...
My mom and I have been doing it since November 5th.
I am so glad that we are not the only ones!
@KydiaMusic I was that person. My mother disowned me. My sister is estranged. I only have a few choice, like minded friends. It’s better that way.
