Via Elie Mystal:

The temperature high was 81 degrees in New York on Wednesday NOVEMBER 6, by the way.

But America elected a climate change denier because the black lady didnโ€™t have the right message for people who never went to college.

We are very close to watering our crops with Gatorade

@GottaLaff itโ€™s got what plants crave!
@GottaLaff Electrolytes! It's what plants *crave*!
@GottaLaff Nice reference to โ€œIdiocracyโ€. ๐Ÿ‘

@GottaLaff

Hydroxychloroquine flavored, of course

@GottaLaff My sister lives in CT and told me it was 71 there yesterday. She also said her state has experienced some wildfires. I came from CA and back in 2017 had to escape my town due to a huge one. I've known climate change was serious for a long time, but I am surprised about the Atlantic coast. Here on the west we've been dealing with it for so long. I ended up moving to a wetter climate in the pacific northwest and it rains here 9 months out of the year. I'll take it at this point.
@Nalyd620 Canada too. I love the rain here because I lived in SoCal my entire life, and the droughts are awful.

@GottaLaff

I love Canada, especially Ottawa. My son lived there for 3 years and I would visit often. I did a lot of research years ago into moving there, but it's immigration laws are impossible.

@Nalyd620 It took us years to be accepted in. We had a good lawyer. And I wrote 3 blogs about it if you need detailed info on how we did it.
@GottaLaff I still need to watch Idiocracy.
@BloodyBible Itโ€™s good. We only just watched for the first time a year or 2 ago.
@GottaLaff I've been in a fairly dystopian mood. I'm mostly going to be watching a lot of right-wing, religious, and fascist propaganda films to give myself a glimpse of what American cinema is going to be like in the coming years. Last night, on Tubi, I subjected myself to a 1943 Nazi film about the Titanic, which speculated that it was sunken by greedy British industrialists who wanted to keep share prices of the cruise line down.

@GottaLaff

The black lady also wouldn't do anything different from the previous administration which is what got us here.

So YEAH, a lot of those non-high school rural votes kinda mattered.

@artisanrox You donโ€™t know that. I think she would have.

But yes, those votes matter, always.

@GottaLaff

she literally said so herself she wouldn't change anything

@GottaLaff You mean BRAWNDO, the THIRST MUTILATOR!
@GottaLaff I weep for the children, I really do. What has America done to us all?

@Lazarou I just blocked a Dem for saying he'll never vote again. He'll protest, but. not vote.

I can't even.

And yes. The kids and those unable to fend for themselves... It's utter insanity.

@GottaLaff @Lazarou "An appeal to emotion admits no argument." Forget exactly whom I misquote here.

@GottaLaff @Lazarou I don't really expect to get an opportunity to vote again, not quite the same thing. I have zero faith there're any electoral solutions left with the fascists running the whole show now.

We'll maybe continue to have elections but so does Russia.

We're going to have to rebuild from the ground up with a new, fairer, Constitution and structure if there's anything left with which to build it after this passes.

@gooba42 @GottaLaff I think that's what that other person was on about. I do keep thinking about Russia, and that's exactly the direction the US is going now. They have 'elections' still but see what happens to anybody who even remotely looks like toppling Putin.

I cannot believe the Dems saw what happened to Navalny and never thought it could happen to them, the naive fools.....

If anything is going to win back freedom for America, it'll be grassroots and not funded by Billionaires

@Lazarou @GottaLaff I am concerned that "we'll get them next time" messaging is giving people the same brand of false hope that let them sit out this last election with "how bad could it be?" confidence.
@GottaLaff Laffy, heโ€™s lying. Heโ€™s using the platform to vent and play with people. Men are such babies.
@MiriShuli Maybe, maybe not. But either way, I don't need that in my feed.

@GottaLaff @Lazarou It's grief doing what grief does. Hopefully, most of the hasty reactions will be shed before the next election. Perhaps this time, the D candidate doesn't have to run a sprint at the end while the lazy R golfs his way to victory, taking his sweet time to let Murdoch & Gargoyles do their thing to the brains of supplicants.

I think I should be writing horror movie scripts this week, lol.

@GottaLaff it sucks but getting elected is marketing, if you don't have the right messaging people won't buy.
A really crappy product with the right marketing will win, so make sure you have the damn right marketing
@WanderingVoron I agree with that for the most part. A reason Biden had to step out was because he simply couldn't market himself anymore.
@GottaLaff only the best (made in China) Gatorade
@GottaLaff Are generations away from the film 'Idiocracy' or months?
@GottaLaff My house has an enclosed porch. It doesn't have heating, although it does have windows. I like working on it, and was a bit sad that winter would be coming and I'd need to work inside (I work from home). Not only have I been generally able to stay out, I have been able to do so in the late evening. In Pittsburgh. It's lovely now, but incredibly disconcerting.
@GottaLaff what else would we use? Toilet water?
@GottaLaff How many people have replied with, "But it's what plants crave!"?

@GottaLaff I'm not saying I agree with them, but the wording of that second sentence can be a bit problematic for some people who voted for Harris but never went to college (like my spouse).

One of the reasons why the gender binary is so powerful is that we give individuals little chance to mix-n-match their own identities.

Yes, the statistical significance of the non-college demo is high. But glossing over the other things that united non-college Trump voters is problematic, maybe risky.

@GottaLaff @ppatel Bread and games would have worked better perhaps?
@GottaLaff or Glyphosate... Oh wait...
