I know you want to burn bridges over the political events of the last couple of days, but take a breath, don't be rash, remember this:

Bridge fires are a nice toasty event to bond with your actual friends around, and don't forget some marshmallows to roast.

@selzero Any bridges I might regret burning I burned a long time ago. I don't make friends with fascists, so I'm unlikely to regret burning ones from people that I don't know.
@selzero The sticks bring held in the photo are comically short. Would burn your fingers immediately. Bourgeois attempt at s'moring like the working class.

@selzero

I would engage with Trump supporters that I believed to be communicating in good faith but misinformed.

I don't believe they deserve that kind of treatment, I think they've earned contempt and hatred. But every person we can get on our side is a win.

But I'll be damned if I can find any Trump supporters that are engaging in good faith. "COVID is a lie" "Gender reassignment surgeries in schools" "Haitian immigrants eating pets by the dozens at picnics" "Jewish space laser" "15 million illegal immigrant voters"

It's a cult, and every cult member is a troll.

@selzero

I have to add....it depends. At 73, after fighting the good fight for 9 years, I have to retire from the field of battle. One can only hope that there's someone more capable to step into the fray in one's stead. This thing does have an effect on one's health.

I'll take on the retirement role of jester, the fool who hides his wisdom up his ass, and only occasionally farts in the other side's general direction.
