Kevin R.The House of the Devil was "elevated horror" before that term existed, let alone got run into the ground. And IMO, it's one of the better examples of such. It's a slow burn that hits the spot, a very simple movie that sets out to do one thing very well and does it. There's a reason why Ti West became a big name in horror since this came out.
