Oh #weirdcarmastodon look at this it's a Lancia Montecarlo in possibly driving condition. I've never seen one in person before. It's so tiny. I want it so bad.

@smellsofbikes if that license plate said *75* LNCIA, which would make it smog exempt, I'd say you should be even more tempted

Edited to add: the last registration sticker is 32 years old. I'm gonna say not driving 😬

@GustavinoBevilacqua there was a wrecked scorp in a local junkyard and I got kind of obsessed. I bet it would be impossible to maintain. They probably only sold 5000 or less in the US.

@smellsofbikes

Can you imagine to convert it to EV?

@GustavinoBevilacqua it would rock so hard

@smellsofbikes

Another good candidate for an EV conversion is the Alpine A110, but it is pretty difficult to find someone selling one for a non-collector price.

An old mayor of Nice, a bit involved with local mafia, had 12 of them.

@GustavinoBevilacqua I have a very long list of Italian cars I would like, and an Alfa Montreal is near the top. So is an Alpina.

@smellsofbikes

Same here!

The versions with open or glazed "buttresses" look nicer, IMO, but they're all cool.

This one seems to be sitting awfully high on its suspension, which makes me wonder if it has an engine. Though, even wo one, I'm not sure the springs would lift it this much.

If you can get parts, it's probably even easy to maintain yourself!

@lolcat I think it's missing front and rear bumpers, which visually makes it look high. But yeah it could be missing a drivetrain too

@smellsofbikes

If it is in pretty awful shape, it could make a good Lemons race car. I've never participated, or raced a car at all, but I can think of worse ways to spend a weekend than "racing" a bunch of other fun, slow, unreliable cars.

If you can buy it for $500, you're in!

@smellsofbikes That's very cool, buy it and build your own Lancia 037 Groupe B replica 😁

It's 2" longer and 100 lbs heavier than my CRX but it definitely looks tiny.

@acsawdey I met a guy who was trying to build a 37, but wow what a fab and parts collection challenge.
@smellsofbikes that is so cute, you need to buy it!
