After months of work, I've created a new series of posters in a hachure style reminiscent of centuries past. Have a look: https://terrainlines.etsy.com/

If these aren't for you, but you still want to support my work, share them around!

A bit more on my blog: https://somethingaboutmaps.wordpress.com/2024/10/29/a-new-take-on-an-old-style/

I'm also planning a Kickstarter to make some handprinted cyanotype versions). You can sign up here to be notified when it goes live: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pinakographos/terrain-lines-cyanotypes-of-iconic-landscapes?ref=9axl1r

P.S. There's a poll to influence which peaks / other designs I offer on the Kickstarter: https://forms.gle/HQHSXqhAba1qqorUA

I need to separately prepare each design to work with cyanotype (vs. the existing posters), so I want to aim for what people are interested in!

Cyanotype Landform Sketches: Kickstarter Editions

I'll be launching a Kickstarter soon to make cyanotype prints of mountains and other landforms. Supporters like you can vote for which peaks are the subject of the Kickstarter! I have a set of initial designs almost ready, and your votes will guide which ones I revise in order to make them cyanotype-ready.

@pinakographos These are gorgeous!
@awilbert Thanks so much! I've been having fun with the process. Which is good, because fun is usually the vast majority of the reward one receives when making art online ;).
I know many people are here for the pretty pictures, so I thought I'd show off some of these, one per day, for a few days. Starting with the the highest point on the planet, Mount Everest.

Let's do two today. These peaks are presently popular in my pre-Kickstarter poll as cyanotype candidates (https://forms.gle/B8x5PNbvmf8kAuuz9).

Also, if you want to see the whole set, I've compiled them into a quick e-book: https://somethingaboutmaps.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/terrain-book-2024-10-31.pdf

Two more today, which also happen to fit nicely within the #30DayMapChallenge Day 2, Lines. While most of the terrain line sketches I've produced in recent months have been of individual peaks, I've also explored showing oblique view terrain, like the volcanoes making up Hawaiʻi.
With these final two, I'll stop spamming your timeline. Remember, if you want to see the whole set, I've put together a free little ebook: https://somethingaboutmaps.wordpress.com/2024/10/31/a-free-ebook-of-terrain-lines/
A Free eBook of Terrain Lines

Friends, earlier this week I mentioned that I’d completed a whole bunch of terrain sketches using some novel techniques that allowed me to create a hachure drawing style from digital elevatio…

@adriangadientbruegger Thanks so much! I'm really pleased with how they turned out.
