Via Elie Mystal:

#Trump's "secret plan" with Mike Johnson to steal the election is more devious than you probably think. It's not just electing Trump via the House. It's decreasing the overall number of electoral votes until Trump wins a majority. https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/little-secret-trump-johnson-election/

2/ "In 2020, Nancy Pelosi was Speaker of the House. If states had tried to get cute and not submit their electors by the December 11 deadline, Pelosi would just have extended the deadline. But Speaker Johnson surely won’t. If electors are not submitted by December 11, he’ll likely declare the process “over” and say that the electors appointed by that date are the only ones allowed to vote for president"
3/ "Crucially, Johnson can do this even if GOP lose House & Johnson is removed from power. The new House isn’t sworn in until Jan 3. As the violent MAGA people in your family already know, Jan 6 is when House certifies the results of electoral college, but that is just a ceremonial day. By the time we get to Jan 6, the electors are supposed to have voted. Dec 11 is the deadline for appointing electors, Dec 25 is the deadline for voting. Mike Johnson will still be in charge on both of those days"

4/ FYI, I did forward this article on Twitter to Marc Elias, where he posts. I'll do the same on Threads. This is one of the only reason I stay on Twitter, to read only those on my list there, and to share legit info.

I wish I didn't have to.

@GottaLaff I second that. For the purpose of my podcast, I have to follow #CandaceOwens on Twitter, Instagram, Rumble, Locals, and anywhere else she posts her bullshit. She is the only follow I do on those. I would've mentioned #ThatFuckingGuy social network, which I am on, but Candace doesn't have a presence there, which is something I've questioned since I learned it, given how much of a Alt-Reich pusher she is. Otherwise, I would have nothing to do with most of this stuff.
@GottaLaff I'm sure Mark's aware of these possibilities. I'm just not sure what can be done about it, if the ultimate goal is to leave it to the Supreme Court to decide.
@GottaLaff this is what I have been terrified of because TFG hasn’t been interested in campaigning. He doesn’t really care about anyone but his base. Why? Because they have a plan. This plan? More than one plan? Probably
@Danetteb That's clearly what he meant when he said, "Don't vote. We have all the votes we need."
@GottaLaff yep he gave us the heads up
@GottaLaff Thanks for doing that so I don't have to
@MaksiSanctum You still should. He needs to see it.
@GottaLaff Marc Elias did an online panel with Jamie Raskin and Brian Tyler Cohen last night discussing exactly these issues. Jamie is very confident that R’s won’t be able to finagle this, I wish I shared his confidence! I think Marc agreed (although I missed some of what he said when anxiety made me zone out for a minute). I’d be interested to hear if he shares any further thoughts with you!
@tiamat271 He won’t. He never responds. Did he address Elie’s exact point?
@GottaLaff I think he did but I can’t remember exactly and I can’t find a replay and now I’m panicking again! 😩😬
@tiamat271 I'm in a perpetual state of panic

@GottaLaff Same here.

I haven’t found a replay yet but here’s a separate clip of Marc talking to BTC about it. He’s confident that the “secret plan” won’t succeed but doesn’t really give concrete details/reasons why. 😬 I’m hoping that’s because he’s a brilliant lawyer who just doesn’t want to bore/confuse us with the details (or maybe he doesn’t want to tip his hand to Rs about how the “secret plan” would be defeated). I will keep looking to see if I can find more...

@tiamat271 I've seen him on MSNBC saying the same. But Elie brought up specific that I haven't seen him address.
@GottaLaff yeah I’m sorry. They talked about it a lot on the live panel, but I’m honestly so riddled w/stress and anxiety that I didn’t catch/remember all of it. They may have addressed that specifically or maybe it was something else. I’ll keep looking (maybe he’ll go back to it again and discuss more specific points like Elie’s since more people are talking about it?). I’ll definitely let you know if I find anything.
@GottaLaff I’m vaguely recalling them discussing something about governors sending their electors, and that most (but not all) of the states likely to be contested either have D governors (like AZ, NC, WI) or R governors who push back on election hijinx (like GA) who are unlikely to let shenanigans make them miss the deadline. Again, that requires having good faith in them, which is what Ellie is worried about (and so am I), so who knows what will happen.
@tiamat271 "good faith" is the problem.
@GottaLaff I understand, and am with you on that. I just don’t know what else to say.
