Honestly, if you’re in the US, please vote. Don’t let a fascist take control. Don’t think that it can’t possibly happen there. This might be your last chance to vote. Don’t waste it. Sitting it out won’t help your cause but it will definitely endanger a lot of lives. That’s my take on it.

@Gargron Voted for Harris/Walz!
@Gargron Name one 'fascist' on the ballot. 🙄
@realdanny Donald J. Trump. That was not difficult.

@[email protected] Trump, or if you'd consider the Green Party on the ballot as well somehow, Jill Stein.

Then again, you're a crypto enthusiast living in the UAE as a 'digital nomad', so you're likely a right-wing libertarian with your head up some other libertarian's ass, and refuse to see the real world. Have fun up there!

@realdanny @Gargron Both of them tbh, but especially Trump.
@realdanny hey, honest question, is your profile part of a lab experiment attempting to distill pure cringe?
I think they may have finally done it.

@lucretia @[email protected] It's an interesting peek into what seems to be a libertarian that does recognize that some people are bad (Elon Musk), while refusing (or not being able) to recognize people like Trump, who are evil.

His attitude towards welfare seems interesting, but at the same time distrusts any ideas about government healthcare by comparing it to...potholes. Does he not realise that health and transport are two completely different departments that fall under different jurisdictions and laws? States, counties or cities take care of potholes, while national healthcare is countrywide, with some control under each state.

And I'm sure that "lower taxes & less regulation" will benefit everyone...in the worst of ways. If it wasn't for heavy FDA regulation, his food might have been more unhealthy or downright poisonous. Even more interesting as he seems to visit 'haven' locations around Asia, where the FDA's benefic knock-on effects are seen, especially when it comes to food export/import and regulations.

@realdanny @Gargron The one that's been called a fascist by three members of his senior staff.
@Gargron Man, stating one's opposition to fascism sure does bring out some stellar reply guys, huh?

@rhys @Gargron

It's good when the stupid points itself out so you can block/mute it.

@rhys @Gargron

pro-tip don't block at the top level reply initially - you'll lose valuable block opportunities down in the re-replies! lol

@Gargron Indeed. Voted early for Harris-Walz. And stretching the meaning of the word #fascist to claim that both candidates are fascist doesn't change the reality. The USA has always had fascistic elements. But only #Trump will set up an overt fascist dictatorship. And if he wins, any and ALL approaches to making a better world will become 1000 times harder. I cast Green Party protest votes in 2016 and 2020, when Trump would not have been able to realize his fascist dream. Not this time.

@dedicto @Gargron

Bernie articulated this well. https://youtu.be/Vf5MThSniiY

“I disagree with Kamala’s position on the war in Gaza. How can I vote for her?” Here is my answer:

@Gargron Thanks for posting this, Eugen!
@Gargron Jeezy Christ I voted as hard as I can.

@Gargron

Totally agree, and I hope it can be retoot to the Universe 😎

@Gargron
Thank you for sharing this very important message. I appreciate it so much!

@Gargron Thank you!  I'm also worried from the EU side of the pond..
@stux @Gargron You think you guys are worried. My country shares the longest undefended border in the world with them!
@steve @Gargron Can't imagine how it must be there..

@steve build a wall 😂

(But yes, from a German perspective, we are also very worried)

@Gargron Even if you take the replies at face value, too many people seem to think the POTUS is a ceremonial position, and so voting or not on principle without regard to the actual outcome is a meaningful thing.

Results matter. They have consequences. A vote which increases the chances of Trump winning ONLY means a higher chance of Trump winning.

@Gargron
And if you do vote fascists in, you can definitely look forward to more of Ryan Gidursky:

@Gargron Thank you, and you are correct. If he wrests power again American democracy is over. No hyperbole.
A vote for Donald Trump is a vote for school shootings and measles

Donald Trump simply will not engage with democracy. A vote for Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election is a vote for solving collective action problems, together.

@Gargron I plan on voting, and am doing all in my power to prevent American Hitler from taking Power
@Gargron tRump and his campaign manager Paul Manafort colluded with Russia in 2016; in 2020 he colludes with Rudy Colludy, and now he is colluding with broligarch Elon Musk!
