@janusfox good eye!! This one is my husband's 2010. They did switch from PCMCIA to SD sometime between then, we also have a 2013 wagon that has an SD card slot instead - so not sure when they switched. I really want to stick a USB or ethernet card in there and see what Comand makes of it π
2013 is both the best and goofiest year! I love having the 'new' engine and half-updated dash, but without the facelift. Plus, it's bonkers what the facelift cars cost vs the OG 212s!
@likesoldmacs Okay I need to go slot hunting for real. I have the 212 up on the lift right now so I can't actually get in anytime soon hah! I have to replace the dreaded prop shaft (4matic).
Oh, I had no idea the 2013 was a face lift year, no wonder it's so hard to figure out which parts fit or not!
Does that make them cheaper or more expensive?
@janusfox oh no that sounds like a huge job! π (My DIY skills on these are limited, plus wow you have a lift!!!)
The 2010-13s look the same, but they swapped in the direct injection V6 in 2013 in North America and did some minor dash updates. Then the 2014-16s have a whole different look and more modified dash. Most people prefer (and seem to pay up for) the blobbier facelifted ones, but I think the square headlights are great!
@likesoldmacs not sure which headlight I have, I assume the older one, but the dealer wants 5000 to fix the broken one. So that's on my todo list as well. Maybe some led retrofit as even used oem replacements are ludicrously expensive.
I think because one of the bulb seals worked itself loose and moisture got in. Be sure to check yours!
