More Comet hunting tonight. The skies were clear, so we drove 60km west, over Mt Glorious and down to the back end of Lake Wivenhoe.

This time, I shot not only with the 200mm f/1.8 lens, but also with my 15mm f/2.8 fisheye for a more environmental shot.

Venus was the brightest thing in the sky, as the moon was well and truly set, but even out here we had some glow on the horizon from the township of Esk (probably).

We also had a close encounter with a Northen Brown Bandicoot, who was on the track to a lookout we stopped at on Mt Glorious. No photos (it was dark, and I wasn't setup for night animal photography), but it was probably the closest I've been to a wild bandicoot so far (about 1.5m or so).
@david What settings did you use? I will be away from light pollution tonight and may get to try a photo.
