The swim was mostly lovely. Water was warm and welcoming. And most people were peacefully enjoying a swim.
The sudden influx of two lots of high school students did change the vibe. A group of boys in particular - running and pushing one another into the pool then taking over a fair bit of it for a boisterous game with a football.
While the pool is for everybody (not just for me, alas 😂), did wish one of the supervising teachers would rein them in a little.
The new skatepark next to Newcastle Beach. Great seeing it get some use every time i go past.
It was under construction for ages (think the first company had major cost overruns - maybe even went bust - so another construction firm ended up finishing it way later than planned).
Will be interesting to see how it lasts in the long term, especially through major storms and big tides. #beach #ocean #skateparks #NewcastleBeach #NewcastleNSW
On a more mundane note, these are the outdoor beach showers (there are proper indoor ones too but these are handy for a quick rinse off). Do you have these or something similar at your local beach? #beach #ocean #swim #surf #NewcastleNSW #NewcastleNSW

@vwdasher ha! True. We've only had cocaine packages wash up so far. But that was a while back and didn't close the beaches.
