UPDATE:
I called the Passport Program and they thanked me for being honest that it needed a correction. They processed it without any further questions and even processed it quickly! 👍

I need advice about my Canadian Passport application.

There's a section that lists current and past employment. I wrote down "Unemployed" because that's what I've mainly been. When I submitted the papers though, the person at the desk also wrote in "Retired". I'm not retired!

Uhhh. Should I say something??? I didn't notice this until now because at the time (a week ago) she photocopied it and I shoved the papers in my bag.

I don't think they look at this stuff when you're at the airport or at border crossings. But I don't want to be in trouble!

Maybe she thought the application would be rejected otherwise? I also paid for 10-year renewal. (BTW the main reason I renewed it was because it's incredibly useful as a form of identification. I rarely travel.)

Any thoughts?

@FalconMarkSix I'm an American who's visited Canada and they don't ask about employment status at the border -- only criminal history; tobacco, cannabis, and alcohol; and if I own or plan to sell the car I'm driving. I'd ask about what she wrote just to get clarification.

@colin Oh thanks for the reply!

I forgot to update the post. I chickened out and called the Passport Program. They thanked me for being honest that my application needed a correction. They also said I might be contacted for further information.

They never contacted me, and they processed my application a month earlier than expected!

@FalconMarkSix @DoomsdaysCW You can always come out of retirement…

@MichaelPorter @DoomsdaysCW

I came out of retirement to deal with all this BS 💀
