They can pick their candidate in smoke-filled back rooms (like they did a couple months ago), and that's legal. Third party votes (or sitting out) are currently the only leverage voters have against the duopoly. Unfortunately, progressives exercising that leverage this cycle risk a #CoupPlottingFascistTraitor presidency.
