does anyone have tips for building a pc for someone who never has before(me)

@kapii https://pcpartpicker.com/ is pretty solid for planning things out. it takes care of letting you know if there are any incompatibilities.

also check out tutorials and stuff if they're available. here's a video by linustechtips. love or hate the guy, he still has an audience of millions so he's clearly catering to a wide audience here and won't assume you know anything

Pick parts. Build your PC. Compare and share.

@eblu @kapii balance your peripherals and your hardware. Don’t skimp out on the gpu to get a 4K 144hz monitor, instead think about if a 4K 60hz monitor or a lower resolution may make more sense with a slightly better gpu. Number one thing I see people making the mistake of doing, they’ll buy something like a top end RTX 4090 when they have 1080p monitors, or they’ll buy lower end models trying to power 3 4K monitors.
@puppygirlhornypost2 @kapii honestly just don't focus on 4k at all. Get 1080p with HDR. It's still less than a 4k monitor and you'll be getting some stellar visuals.
@ohanamatsumae @puppygirlhornypost2 honestly 4k never seemed that appealing to me, 1920x1080 is good for me
@ohanamatsumae @kapii I like 2k. Budget wasn’t specified so I can’t say much but I personally have an RTX 3070ti with a 4K60fps monitor I love, and a 4K60fps ultrawide (it’s more like 2k when it comes to density but I digress)
