Last week I played through an Ibanez Fat Cat and had something like, why not build a real Rat? The Fat Cat is nice but it's fitted with a 5534.
Finished the board today, now I need to find courage to box it. And order some 3n3 Wima film caps because that Kemet one looks out of step.
And the LM308?Just walked into a shop, asked for it and the guy behind the counter mumbled ah lo fi guitar op amp and pulled it out of a drawer from the gigantic closets behind him.
Getting ready to drill some holes. Stuck a template on an enclosure and now looking for my center punch.
Template was created with Inkscape. I use spray adhesive to put it on the enclosure. Spray it on the back of the template, let it dry for 20 minutes and then you can try to get it on the enclosure exactly the way you want as you can pull it off and put it on multiple times.
Found my center punch and punched in the pilot holes. Next step: drill pilot holes with a 2mm drill.
Pilot holes drilled! The unibit to drill holes with correct sizes for the different components (jack connectors, dc connector, potentiometers, etc.) is already mounted in the drill press.
Now let's drill the holes.
And the enclosure with the holes drilled in the correct sizes.
Yeah, building these kind of things quickly becomes a chaos... But managed to set up a testing rig and behold, it works! And sounds quite cool too! Happy days.
And no, I can't run it through a real amp but my Mod Dwarf does the trick. And yeah, that's the MOD web ui running on my Debian machine. Come to think of it, this is mainly open source stuff, both the analogue guitar effect and the digital chain.
