Here's evidence BEFORE someone is injured or killed. CalTrans designed & constructed a truly hazardous cycle track, Gilman St. & 2nd near I-880 in Berkeley. Cycle track ends abruptly w/o pavement markings or signs indicating where bikes are intended to travel. Lots of jackass driver behavior here.

@Avimentor Also no indication of where motor vehicles are supposed to travel. I’ve avoided biking through this chaos, but I drive through it frequently, as it’s my primary exit from I-580. I know this intersection well now, but even I have trouble finding the car lanes at night. It’s really easy for an unfamiliar drive to feel directed straight onto the cycle track. Especially at night.
