Supreme Court lets a Texas emergency abortion ban stand

The Supreme Court decided Monday that a court order finding Texas hospitals cannot federally be required to provide pregnancy terminations when they violate a state abortion ban will stay for now. The decision is another setback for opponents of Texas’ abortion ban and comes weeks before a presidential election where abortion has been an animating issue.
