@santiago I agree for the most part, and that's why the "#Rubbon" is a hideos #Enshittifucation to #LibreOffice because it's space-inefficient and unnecessarily increases mouse movements and necessary keystrokes!

#WhatsMissing is a #OfficeSuite that is #KISS-principled, sleek and elegant as well as accessible.

#OOXML should be outlawed, alongside #MicrosoftOffice which can't comply with #GDPR anyway...

The number of network connections required to @Microsoft and @Skype servers, to get Word just to start, is now 31. You can no longer say "I don´t want to send diagnostic data", then Word just quits silently. (Please spare me the Open/LibreOffice gospel, it does not apply here.)

@kkarhan @santiago There is #Markdown, #Pandoc, #TeXLaTeX. If you want a #UNIX-like toolchain it‘s all there at the tip of your toe. The idea of an all-in-one #OfficeSuite is anti #KISS pattern from its principles.

@lazarus @santiago TBH, I thought of merely a sort-of-metapackage (kinda like #LibreOffice is, as it's components are indicidually installable)...

  • For the most part, it should just provide a few basic scripts to i.e. use #YADL and build a pipeline to whatever output formats are desired...

I.e. you can, just edit your documents/presentations/... in like #neovim or #ne or whatever ither #editor you like and you'd then just tell it to spit out i.e. PDFs, HTML (in a .tar.bz2 if there's more than a single HTML file) or whatever format...
