@jon
* Windows 7 (64 - desktop, 32 - nettop, 32 starter - netbook)
* Smartphone AuroraOS
* push-button phone KaiOS
+ now I'm learning HaikuOS in practice...
windows 7 is not eternal, and modern linux and win 11 are now fat and user-disgusting.
@jon This probably the best example I've seen of how much Mastodon is in a bubble, in terms of variety of users on the platform.
Not saying it's a bad thing.
@MissBehave @jon Yea I know... But you get my point ☺️. I also prefer if people use a laptop with Linux rather than Windows.
Especially windows 11 is a privacy nightmare. I don't understand why people would ever use that or will install it.
@stevenaleach @jon Definitely. The smartphone decreased the attention span, if only because of the "social media".
We went from books to newspaper, to mainly online posts and blogs or articles. And now you see most people consume their news from small headlines alone, like on X.
And like you said, reading long in depth stories. Or news. Or other kind of material, only using a small screen on the phone isn't the same. It's so small, you get eye strain. Most people didn't read this last line..
@drgroftehauge @jon I'm talking about the increase the mobile phone use vs Desktop use.
Edit: I also believe a lot of people didn't know it was a multi selection poll.
@jon phone: android
work : MacOS (not my choice)
personal laptop: linux
partner and kids: android/windows/linux
It's a mixed bag..
