SUSAN TEDESCHI: , HALL OF FAMER
Mastodon Post

@Mommacran

You may know that blues singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi is of the Tedeschi supermarket family. In high school, she played basketball, was involved in theater, ad took interest in physics and chemistry. And, like Taylor Swift, she was a cheerleader. Tedeschi either has been or is about to be inducted into her high school's sports Hall of Fame for her cheerleader excellence. Don't know, either way, whether she is there already for basketball. So, Tedeschi's Hall of Fame honor will give Taylor Swift something to shoot for.

@tribeofjesse I did not know that about Susan! I hope Taylor's not too jealous.

Susan Tedeschi is an all around winner. My first connection with her was through Boston Globe reviews but my second was turning around in a Tedeschi supermarket parking lot in Boston. I didn't stop in because Susan probably wouldn't have personally bagged my groceries.

Fate is a funny thing. This morning the music collection I'm working on included "Rock and Roll Band" by Boston. Not quite as good as I remembered. It calls to mind, though, that my recollections of songs having to do with the Boston area are flawed in an embarrassing way. It seems I forgot the smash hit, "Whoever's In New England." It is the single that launched the greatest female vocalist in country music history, Reba McEntire. Big mistake on my part to miss that one. Not my favorite Reba song but it was clearly her star-making vehicle.

When whoever's in New England is through with you
And Boston finds better things to do
It's not too late.....

"Rock and Roll Band" was followed by "I'm Allowed" by another Boston band, Buffalo Tom. It's right up there with "Taillights Fade."

Day Five of this building having no fire escape.
