A jolly Monday to you all, and what a Monday it is: I'm in the office bright and early for the launch of the #RaspberryPi #AI #Camera Module - a tiny 12.3 megapixel #Sony IMX500 sensor which can run #ComputerVision models on-device.

#Technology #Gadgets #MachineLearning #ArtificialIntelligence

It's roughly the same size as the existing Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3, though a little thicker, but swaps the autofocus system for an on-sensor machine learning accelerator capable of running segmentation, pose detection, and object classification on-device.

Impressively, it does this in a sub-2W power draw and in real-time - and Raspberry Pi's got a model zoo for you to browse, as well as tools for adapting your own #TensorFlow or #PyTorch projects.

Raspberry Pi's AI Eye: Hands-On with the Raspberry Pi AI Camera Module

Sony's IMX500 "Intelligent Vision Sensor" lets you run computer vision models entirely on-camera, freeing up your Raspberry Pi's CPU.
