It took doing this challenge to make me look at the lyrics better and realized "oh, she wasn't singing one in a million after all." XD But anyway, always thought of this song when reading Bat Lash, so there's the inspiration for putting Ishtar in the Ol' Wild West for an one in a million event!

I'm so mad I'm posting this now because 1) while I'm still self-conscious of how I draw men 2) I finished the inks pretty fast but because I haven't colored in a long time, it took a while to figure out how to color this but 3) CSP and Photoshop were suddenly lagging so much (despite the layers being minimal by my own standards lol), that even though I finished at around 2-3pm, it's NOW that I'm posting because that's how laggy Photoshop was. I ended up having to put these on the external hard drive, just so it'd go faster.

Yes that was a terrible structured sentence, you might have to deal with it LOL

it also made me realize that because I haven't done this in a while, I'm pretty much taking a long time to do things again...which means that the next prompts are going to be black and white unless suddenly, time exists--and even then, some of these might end up being super crappy ballpoint-inked sketches.

Today's prompt, September 4: it's dark and there's only one flashlight featuring Gamlin (Macross 7) and the Major (Ghost in the Shell).

Kinda feel bad that all the tones and rest of the drawing got "hidden" because of the nature of the mood, but one day I may show the sausage XD I did a custom outfit for Motoko because the ones that could be more relevant were too complicated or didn't have good references online.

This one makes me happy in many ways

I took an accidental break from this because 1) I lost track of one day due to offline priorities and 2) I suddenly suffered from the usual "NAAN fixed her sleeping schedule for three days and then her body said no, we're gonna be even sleepier now as punishment."

Got yesterday and the next few days penciled, I only have no energy to finish  But hopefully tomorrow early, I'll be able to take time to work on this and catch up!

Of course, the fact that both (old) Bat Lash and Hans ended up being "picked" for this meant I could only do the obvious (to me) (please read Guns of the Dragon)

Another catchup, with September Nine's "what's that noise?"

Been a while since I've read Marvel, so my Jubilee is "stuck" when she's a vampire and appeared with the cutest little baby in the neighborhood. This one was hard, but a recent event made me realize where the two could meet. You can't tell me DQ doesn't give gifts to the little good vampire boys and girls. (And/or sons and daughters of vampires, I suppose.)

Catching up near the end of the challenge? More like it's on brand for NAAN!

Here was September Eleven's prompt, "Stargazing."

This one was both hard and interesting--one, because it was a perfect pairing as both Angela and Mitchell are of similar, hmm, theme? (Angela is an android, Mitchell can *speak* to machines of any kind.) Two, because 9/11 is actually part of Mitchell's story LMAO (but I took that day off.)

The hard part was thinking of a situation for them to even meet together--I ended up with some allusions to Angela's role in Ruina and Mitchell (and his bodyguard Bradbury) not really trusting her presence or her. After all, she could be another German spy tactic, wouldn't she?!

(Yes, that actually happened to them lol. I love comics.)

But Angela just stares at the sky, pondering...while Mitchell wonders if her body is speaking to him or if he's gone crazy 🙊

September Twelve's "with the title "subdivisions"

...Yeah, I had no idea for this one either. Only thing I've heard subdivisions in is in a military context, so that's how I drew this one. Hans thinking he's being very helpful with his planning for S.O.N.G--except some don't think so, it seems!  

I added Miku because I had the funny idea of Hans trusting Hibiki so much that he thinks she can take enemies all by herself. (I mean, she can, but you know, there's a limit?!)

I couldn't fit it into this idea--and to be fair, this would only happen after a few months in this scenario--but I came up with short nicknames for some of the girls that Hans would use  He'd call them "valkyries" (which is slight in-joke haha) the way he'd call his men "my fledglings" (yes, you read that right), but Shirabe and Kirika would be "little bunny" and "little witch", for example.
