Hi all. Long time no see huh?
Quick update.
I’ve been active with my local League of Women Voters. I’ve attended a couple of rallies, campaign kick offs, town halls and fundraising parties.
Last night was another town hall with my #Texas state rep and county commissioner. I’ve known my state rep since his first campaign in 2018 but in all that time I don’t think I’ve never taken a photo with him while in official capacity.
We talked about the #TxLege session that will start in January

One of the biggest issues anticipated is Gov #Abbot withholding funding for public schools that have had cut bus routes and other vital resources to operate because of budget shortfalls. He and LtGov #DanPatrick are hell bent on funneling public money to private schools via a voucher program.
This will be a big fight this coming session.

Okay so maybe I should've made this a 3-part thread.
The last thing Jon and I talked about were down-ballot races in the #TxLege There are four seats that Dems in #Texas believe *will* flip. In doing so, it would help block the voucher bill because there are enough rural Republicans who will not budge in voting for vouchers.
With energized Dem voters because of VP #Harris, he feels there is a really good chance of flipping those seats. This bodes well for #CollinAllred in unseating #TedCruz.
