I replaced the light bulbs in the laundry room of our carriage house today.

The bulbs I had were marked 25 watts, so I was prepared for dim lighting. It turns out that they're LED bulbs that are actually 25 watts, so equivalent to 250 watt incandescent bulbs -- each!

@Patricia Tbh setting up the Thirring mastodon instance when we didn't know if Twitter would completely collapse was a big win. (Coming up on the 2 year anniversary). We guided our floofy friends out of there and parachuted them to a kind and friendly place. Made documents to help people along, and sent them out. It was like a startup project and was wonderful.

@Patricia Wins are scarce here these days, but I’ve just recently realized the silly CC-licensed fantasy-adventure serial I’ve managed to keep updating regularly is about to hit 100 installments/chapters. It seems there’s even an audience comprised of dozens of actual humans that are willingly reading it. That’s something I can feel some pride in, at least.

My win: I never imagined I could teach other developers about stuff like professional teachers do. Nudged by a few people, I left my comfort zone, took the plunge, gave a training course, did well, and still feel both crazy and excited by all that.

@mkhl Having users, any amount tbh, is so gratifying, the other day I bragged that I had gotten a bug report, because if you get a bug report not only do you have users, they care enough about the thing they bother to tell you when it doesn't work.

At work, they were discussing tests, and a man said to her: "I don't think you want to look at the source code, right?". Another man in the room pointed at the sticker and said: "I guess she does!".
