Trump’s Tax Plan Is Another Giant Boon for the Wealthy

Donald Trump’s tax cuts were a bonanza for Big Oil, big corporations, and the ultra-wealthy. Now they’re fighting to keep their windfalls — and more.

@Npars01 @notwhatwethink There is a saying in Germany: "Your last attire has no pockets."

After having collected a certain amount of wealth, there is actually no need to collect even more. Particularly if it is more than you can ever spend in your entire life. And even if you want to provide better opportunities for your children, fortunes ranging in the billions of dollars are insane.

In fact, it's not about wealth anymore. It's about power. Billionaires are the new aristocrats!

@DP0 @Npars01 @notwhatwethink yes. We have it in Britain too - there are no pockets in a shroud.
@DP0 I would name them even oligarchs. The problem is the power they have.
The ITUC publication shows that Amazon, Tesla, Meta, ExxonMobil, Blackstone, Vanguard and Glencore are the corporations accused of undermining democracy across the world by financially backing far-right political movements, funding and exacerbating the climate crisis, and violating trade union rights.

And they want us all forced to kneel.

@qkslvrwolf @DP0 @Npars01 Aren't they glorious and impressive, except...they can't escape their compulsion to make and have ever more. Sounds like a personal shortcoming/insecurity/addiction to me, and not something to be proud of.

@notwhatwethink

I think it's some kind of mental illness. I think there needs to be a treatment/cure, and I don't care if it takes all of their billions to find it. 😉

@qkslvrwolf @DP0 @Npars01

@DP0 @Npars01 Well put!! I would add that it's also about a subconscious need to pacify their insecurity and anxiety. It doesn't work but that doesn't stop them reflexively/compulsively from trying.
