[Did Afghan #men really believe that the #Taliban would stop after taking away women's freedom? Did they really think that just because they were men, that these religious extremists wouldn't eventually come after their freedoms?

We have some racist chucklefucks in the blind community. And I've been saying the same thing about them for years. First they came, etc., and we're definitely a target.

As for GOP men. Two words: Rousas Rushdoony.
It's all fun and games until we have a theocracy that institutes Biblical Law, and people learn exactly what that entails.

I'm reminded of that scene from A Handmaid's Tale (the book; I don't know if it's in the TV show) where Gilead troops are massacring Baptists.
If someone's religion isn't in complete compliance with whatever the theocracy dictates, they're fair game for slavery or death.

But hey, you and I know all of this. The people who need to hear it will just stuff their ears.

I had to look up Rousas Rushdoony, and I still don't know what you mean by referring to him. His church/followers/??? never turned on him (as least as far as I can tell after some quickie research).

But yes. People who promote/tolerate hate will almost always end up with that hate turned against them at some point.

My point about Rushdoony is that his kind of theocracy is where all of this is heading. He's one of the most influential people in the religious right that almost no one has heard of. Rushdoony's followers didn't turn on him and attack him.
They almost certainly will turn and attack "useful idiots" on the right once they are no longer of use.
