I want to say that I spent every second scene in ‘Dracula Untold’ thinking about ‘Brad Stoker’s Dracula’ from 1992.

I feel the earlier film is just so weird and special. The effects are weird and incredible when you read about how they were done.

The cast is weird and amazing. Yeah, leave Keanu alone. And remember this film also has Carey Elwes, Richard E. Grant and Tom Waits in it (… also Anthony Hopkins, Winona Ryder, and Gary Oldman).

Plus it has also the weird Dracula powers of mist, wolves, and rat forms along with classic bats.

But mostly there’s just nothing else quite like it.

I added the shot that always impresses me, of the journal with the train in the background. It’s all in the shot. It’s not two images stitched together.

That’s a giant 20ft wide book they made, with a miniature train going past behind it.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the Seduction of Old School Movie Magic

@troberts I can't say I've seen Dracula Untold, but Bram Stoker's Dracula was excellent. It was like an 80's movie with 90's effects, and I loved it
