Letting this guy be in charge of starlink and spacex is a national security risk. He’s radicalized, erratic, and dangerous. Nationalize both companies and boot him.
He has near total control over essential infrastructure, he has already used it to interfere in foreign policy, and he is stuck in the same right wing intel radicalization spiral as every gamer gather who ever tried to live out a revenge fantasy.

The US must stop its reliance on Elon Musk

Make him sell off SpaceX and Starlink, he can plug the Twitter hole with the proceeds.

We all dodge a massive national security risk, and he gets to keep his weird incel fiefdom.

Elon Musk’s financial woes at X have Tesla bulls fearing he will liquidate more stock

Plunging U.S. revenue at X risks opening up a "massive hole" on its balance sheet that Musk needs to plug to stave off its financial collapse.

@mcnees I can think of at least two other launch companies where the US government forced divestment because the owners were suspected (not proven, just suspected) of foreign influence.

Musk losing his security clearance would right away remove him from the ability to be a corporate officer at SpaceX. Any forced divestment would be after that.

@simonbp @mcnees this is on a much smaller scale and a different country, but in my old home town a chap was director of a very popular record shop selling and releasing rave music. He got heavily into drugs and the "gangster" lifestyle, and was even shot and injured by a rival (his minder was killed).

Even though he was a victim rather than a criminal, the bank who financed the company had him removed from the board as "unfit" and a business risk and it was sold from straight under him..

@mcnees
Why can't I sign this like a normal person? And not have to give up a social media username?
@mcnees He's open about his serious and extended use of recreational drugs. Positions of much less responsibility require regular drug tests.
@mcnees For that matter, doesn't this contract require him to have a security clearance?
@emergentnexus @mcnees yet he fires workers for positive drug tests. Double standards
@mcnees what does it take to nationalize a company like that - I am all for this plan....
@mcnees Just a matter of time before the Kessler Syndrome is renamed the "Musk Tantrum Syndrome".
@mcnees my Gods. If someone from "the left" were to casually Tweet or post this to Facebook the feds would be at their door within hours if not minutes.

@BioGeek23 @mcnees

No they wouldn’t. It’s not a legal threat. If someone keeps it up or if they look into it casually - there’s a lot of this type of crap out there to investigate - and the person really is a threat, then they’ll step up the timetable to investigate and prioritize the person.

@mcnees

What makes this even worse is if you Google 'DogeDesigner' it seems like the account is likely a sockpuppet for Musk. If so, he initiated the entire exchange.

@mcnees he is just another billionaire who was created on taxpayers cash, he is one of the biggest single benefactors from corporate government welfare on the planet.
@mcnees I really feel like that's the plan.
@mcnees Ummm, that sounds like a threat against the Vice President and he should be arrested.
@mcnees
Disgusting, vile, despicable and very dangerous.
@mcnees
I hope that tweet earns him a call from the Secret Service.

@mcnees

That’s hardly anything new for some of these industrialist type assholes.

@mcnees

Exactly. Get rid of this lowlife…

Trump is a piece of shit, that is why this is happening.

Unlike Biden and Harris.

@mcnees When people commented about his website being blocked in Brazil I said that I expect other countries to do the same: he is dangerous to society, not only Brazil or the USA, but to everyone on this planet. His actions hurt the climate and his words hurt people's minds.
@mcnees It's that "thinking emoji" that he puts after all of his batshitness that is really just perfect. Is he actually dril?!?

@mcnees

Sounds suspiciously like, “Dammit people! We’ve got you the guns, the crooked police, the courts, the rage, regular practice in schools… what else do we need to do get you to murder our political rivals?!?”
