We believe this to be an absolutely harrowing act of political repression with the intent to silence her voice and discredit her journalism. This is evident to us by the prosecution’s recommendation, which was thankfully denied, that her residence, vehicle and electronics be subject to search and seizure without a warrant. Special terms were, however, included in her probation which takes away her ability to wear a protective vest as many journalists covering conflicts do. It is not a crime to be antifascist and, as the jury found, it is not a crime to defend yourself and your property. We want justice for Alissa, but we need your support to get there. Right now, the best way to help is by donating to her legal fund and sending money to her trust/commissary. Here’s how! Clackamas County Jail uses a service called GettingOut. You can create your own account at https://www.gettingout.com/ and deposit into her account directly if you wish. You will need to use your legal name and personal information to do this. You can also venmo @/pdxsfund. All money received will go to making sure her commissary has funds as well as assist after her release with transitional housing and further legal expenses. You can also donate by credit card through the Donorbox fundraiser at https://donorbox.org/help-alissa-get-proper-legal-defense. Purchasing a T-shirt from https://bridge-city.printify.me/products also supports Alissa. Thank you to everyone who has supported Alissa. We will continue to post updates on IG and Mastodon. Love, Friends of Alissa"
