Long Covid rates nearly DOUBLE in people who were already disabled.

This is why we beg you to care about safe spaces. Beg disability orgs to implement clean air and masking.

We’ve been shut out of society. We’re much higher risk. We deserve inclusion.

Disabled people don’t have the luxury of living in denial about Covid. We can’t pretend it’s over. We can’t “go back to normal.”

Our lives are on the line - and no one cares. Everyone is convinced it won’t happen to them - so they throw us to the wayside in favour of “normal.”

Long-COVID rate among disabled people double that of able-bodied

@broadwaybabyto I’ve actually seen them go 'back to normal' and that’s probably the worst, because they are so brainwashed too that they don’t recognize the huge danger they are getting themselves into.

@frumble @broadwaybabyto

Gfdi. How many of these currently-abled bastards do you think had “if all your friends jumped off a bridge” drilled into them?

I just want to tear my hair out some days.

@broadwaybabyto I tend to disagree. I think it's up to us to manage our risk. Healthy people should be allowed to manage theirs.

That said, public spaces need much more air purifiers.

@rmattila74 that’s why we’re in this mess. COVID is a threat to everyone - even “healthy” people. When we take a personal risk approach we all fail. If a healthy person’s idea of risk management involves breathing on me while sick with Covid - how is that an acceptable strategy?
