A ★★★★ review of Handling the Undead (2024)

Fantasy Filmfest 2024 [English] Slowly told, atmospheric zombie film with a very unusual focus on intimate relationships with loved ones. Splatter fans will not be happy here. The dead suddenly come back to life - or not, because they are actually undead. Is this actually the person that the living remember? In principle, this allegory is, as so often, about grief and loss. And Thea Hvistendahl does this amazingly well in her feature film debut. The story builds up very slowly, the first half hour is correspondingly protractive, but fits well into the overall picture for the development of the
