So many people out in Glasgow for the Stand Up To Racism demonstration against racism and the far right. Also some really great speakers, a tonne of cool union banners, and fantastic drums from SheBoom - Europe's largest women's drumming circle. I only took terrible photos 🫣

Thousands of protesters turn out for anti-racism rally in Glasgow

‘Phenomenal show’ of solidarity in city’s George Square overshadows smaller anti-immigration demonstration

@RuthSalter well done the protesters. Sounds from the news that there was some minor trouble so I hope all ok with you.
@simonvarwell Thanks Simon - honestly from where we were everything was pretty chill - music, free coffee, folks chatting with everyone, two people walking round handing out tunnocks tea cakes, wee kids running about on the grass with signs shouting refugees-welcome chants. We were mostly near the SUTR stage end and could only stay about two hours, so I dunno what it was like elsewhere - but from what we saw the BBC article seems pretty overblown...
@simonvarwell Also I'm so sorry cause I just saw I'm no longer following you and I have no idea why! My phone screen sometimes clicks things without being told to so perhaps that :S Anyway I have re-followed, sorry!
@RuthSalter the mysteries of social media. Don’t apologise, I’m more interested in who I follow than who follows me!
@RuthSalter BBC getting something wrong? Surely not. Glad it was good.
@RuthSalter it was great to be part of
✊🏼👍🏼😉
