Never forget this: Working people outnumber the billionaires and CEOs by a huge margin.

If workers stand together, they will win.

Solidarity.

@rbreich not enough. The ratio should be a divide by zero error

@rbreich awesome post. Thank you. Someone asked me yesterday when the control of the many over the few was lost in democracy. They suggested that representative democracy was the tool since influencing few decisionmakers is easier than the whole voting community.

I think we need to transition to full direct democracy where decisions are made digitally by voting on your phone every week or month.

@rbreich except currently what’s happening is that the average worker is worked until they’re too tired to care anymore while the stress keeps mounting
@rbreich It's why they fervently work to make unions appear evil...

@rbreich Uh huh. And yet, about a century ago, it was deemed perfectly normal for gunmen in uniform hired by corporations to fire live rounds on picketing labourers demanding a living wage and humane working conditions. And in those days, most working people had the right to form unions.

The scene today is very different. The oligarchs of that age were just mannikins compared to the purchasing power of the handful who control both government and corporations today.

A better deal is needed.

@rbreich problem is young people don’t vote
@rbreich Unfortunately, solidarity is no match for extreme wealth. As the old expression goes: It's as significant as a fart in a thunderstorm.
@rbreich sadly and maybe half of the workers are ReTrumplicans. .
