Battle of the Writers EP6🧵

It's Monday! Battle of the Writers day!

This episode is going to bring us some answers, especially about the past. So, I'm excited.

Pie has got Ozone's number -- figuratively as well as literally.

Oh that prank could have been much worse, right? Though the groom seems freaked.

Everything is chill! At least chill enough to be eating at the same reception(?) table. Though I have never played truth or dare at a wedding reception, bottle style or otherwise.

Also O is invested in Pie's answer to the crush-at-the-table question. Oh wait, he's black knighting for Pie!

Heavyweight drinker, huh? Much impress.

Pie also seems to be a man of secret smiles.

Wait, did the company make that decision or did Pie make that decision for Reasons™. (ie: he knows he has a bias now?)

Damn, Yim's eyeshadow and eyeliner in this scene is very overt. Like, in universe he has to be wearing makeup. Or he has pinkeye.

Ozone trying to catch Pie's attention by getting the shippers going about him and Ob-aun.

Despite it being a question with ulterior motives on the part of Aun, O's response is actually helpful from a writing standpoint. "You don't understand the meaning of your own idea? Just what do you want it to be?"

Oh, so that's who Intouch is.

Aww poor guy. He knows that's the rejection putting down of the teacup.

O's talking about how Intouch and Shan would have made a good couple. Meanwhile he saw Shan reject Intouch.

... Anything important enough to be a 20 hour meeting, needs to not be a 20 hour meeting.

You know, actually. I think Ozone is onto something there, but like, on a deeper level than he is talking about. Shan can write feelings well, but he has trouble expressing them, as is own. Especially spontaneously.

So he keeps communicating them vicariously through the characters and stories.

Not that this is a Big Mood™ or that might be projecting or anything.

Ozone has a point. Which either flew right over Shan's head, or Shan caught it and tossed it over his head.

Okay, but the view? It's not so much the look of it, as the openness of it.  Imagine the breeze!

Anyway, the fact that he directly answered, when directly asked points to what I mean about spontaneously expressing his feelings being difficult.

Ozone's shock at the reveal is cute.

I was wondering how they'd handle his blindness. It turns out it was a recent injury? And, so, covered with gauze full time? So this is a period of him adapting to that vs something he's dealt with for a while.

Also, he was apparently hoping to be a cop. So I guess he changed his mind? It's not about the injury, bc he was still asking about it.

Wait, he had two Gnarly Gear shirts? Normal irl. A little weird in costuming.

My heart trying to jump out my chest when kid Ob-aun ran towards the floor to ceiling window. This kid is far too adorable to deal with.

Cool. I just got spoiled for Murder on the Orient Express, by Agatha Christie.

Also, he needs the gauze on for roughly two months.

I do not like recognizing that chord progression.

The story! It happened. And is open ended.

Also 'dito, Aun crying over not managing to get the little cop story published.

Aww, now we've got more writer encouragement: not getting your work published (on the first try, even!) doesn't mean it's bad. And that you're still a writer even if you don't get published.

And writing a story is inherently practicing the thinking process and progress. (Okay that part feels almost like a call out to me in specific. I need to finish more projects.  )

Okay so if the writing is that good then, why not? Ah. Okay actually, that's a fair concern. Ob-aun's incisive comment about being the only contestant is cute though. Shan's response was v Shan.

That cake looked really good.

Oh, this'll be great. Shan, how *do* you recognize Ob Aun? Gonna tell his best friend that you remembered him by smell?

lol Wow. He actually said it.

I appreciate that the show is clearly aware of the passage of time, given it's now night outside.

So, how much did Ob-Aun hear? Well, I'm assuming it's him that made that noise. I guess it could have been Akin, a trespasser, or a neighbor in their own apartment. Though I don't know that sound carries that far in a building like that.

Honestly I wasn't expecting Sin to get his own romance arc? It looks cute though?

We are six episodes in, with the other ships still orbiting each other. How will it affect pacing.

I want Yim's shirt.

It looks like Ob-aun might have overheard and/or learned about their shared past?

Cute, ending with Shan saying things we can't see.
